Lana's Shooting Stars

Lana Fertelmeister has continually designed collection after collection of must-have gold jewelry that instantly become girl-next-store and celebrity favorites. We still love those 3-Tear Earrings Cameron Diaz wore to a glitzy movie premiere. And, it's no different with her new summer collection, Lucky Star. The collection features necklaces and earrings and is perfect for layering. Just think, the more stars you have, the more luck they'll bring. “Summer brings out a certain youth in everyone. That’s what my Lucky Star collection is all about; it’s that flirty, sophistication that is really ageless to a woman. When you wear my Lucky Star collection, every woman will shine like a star, says Fertelmeister of her new line.” Prices start at $365 for necklaces and $355 for earrings and come in yellow, white and rose gold and you can get pieces with or without diamonds. Russian Fashion Princess: Kira Plastinina Comes Stateside

Kira Plastinina Boutique on Robertson in LA

Kira Plastinina is coming stateside and in a big way with the launch of stores in LA, New York and Las Vegas with 50 more stores planned in the United States within the next three years. The brand already has 40 stores in Russia, 2 in the Ukraine and 2 in Kazakhstan. This could be your basic global expansion, but the fact is the designer behind the brand is only 15! You'll find 500 stores globally by the year 2010.

Kira Plastinina is generally like every other teenage girl, only she is at the helm of a multi-million dollar company. By day she attends the prestigious Anglo-American school in Moscow, but after school she is chauffeured to her office where she begins her second life as a budding fashion designer. Backed by her millionaire father Sergei Plastinin, Kira's company is making major waves in the fashion world. "Kira Plastinina is well on her way to becoming an international sensation,” says Sergei Plastinin." With up to 40 branches open in premium malls in Russia, we have had tremendous success in creating a unique luxury brand that targets the teen market. Our decision to expand globally to the U.S. comes from our extensive research into the market and our confidence that we will fill a niche.” In 2007, Paris Hilton was brought in to sit front row at Kira's show during Moscow Fashion Week for a reported $2 million and the designer has already been named Glamour Magazine's "Woman of the Year" under the category "Breakthrough of the Year". In early January of this year,
fashion editor's like Teen Vogue's Amy Astley was introduced
to Kira Plastinina through a private party produced by
Harrison & Shriftman to unveil the designers collection before New York Fashion Week began. We can't wait to watch the career of this young designer!

In the LA Area? Watch for the Kira Plastinina ice cream truck this Memorial Day weekend! The truck will be driving between Kira's stores at Robertson Blvd. and Beverly Drive until 6 p.m. today handing out lollypops and tickets for shoppers to redeem a Kira T-shirt at one of her new LA stores which recently opened this month.

Check out the fabulous life of Kira Plastinina...

Mischa to Design a Line of Handbags

Mischa Barton will design a collection of handbags that will debut in London come July. The line is inspired by vintage, as well as her travels around the world. The handbags will include a range of looks including snakeskin, fabric and leather and will be finished off with a flower, taken from a drawing by Mischa. Perhaps living in Paris has given Barton some inspiration as well.

The Mayor's Fashion Council Industry Night

The Mayor's Fashion Council hosted a networking event tonight for fashion mavens in the city. Boutique owners, fashion editors, designers and students gathered at the Hard Rock Hotel for a meet and greet of the city's movers and shakers in the field of fashion. Guests enjoyed a plentiful amount of hors d' oeuvres like ceviche from China Grill, while sipping on Divine Vodka cocktails. On display were looks from local Chicago designers, Yana German of Yana Collection, Kristin Rosynek Hassan of organiK Revolution, Kate Coxworth of Kate Boggiano, Agga B Raya of Agga B., Glenn Mallory of 6ACE and Lidia Wachowska of Evil Kitty (pictured below from left to right). In a room flocked with fashionistas, we couldn't help but find some lust-worthy clothing and accessories that we loved.

Oh, Jenn Lake (of Skirt PR), how bad do we want your Hermès handbag! The black bag is the most coveted bag of our time and Jenn's investment piece couldn't be any more chic. Jenn snagged her bag at an auction held at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers. While we absolutely adore Jenn's black Hermès, we found this crocodile Kelly bag on Ebay for $12,000. Click Here for details! Happy Bidding! Jewelry Designer Tracey Mayer is one of the most stylish women we know and tonight was no different with her statement making red top, cinched at the waist with a black patent belt. She was wearing her gorgeous Cinnabar ring from her collection, Tracey Mayer, $450, www.traceymayer.com.
We instantly fell in love with this red bow blouse, rouge by avion feminin that's available at ShopJake.com. Was $550, now $330.
We love how fashion writer Heather Kenny accented her black dress with an eye-catching oversized necklace! We thought it was vintage, but she snagged it at H & M! While we love budget pieces too, we couldn't help but get taken away with the oversized necklaces at Vivre. This Pompadour Necklace by Dori Csengeri goes for $1,475. If it's good enough for Madame de Pompadour, it's good enough for us. Shop Vivre.

Jonathan Saunders is a Go for Target

Leslie Hindman Auctions Off Designer Clothing from Billionaire Leona Helmsley

Over the weekend, fashionistas got the chance to bid on items from the estate of Leona Helmsley thanks to Leslie Hindman Auctioneers. Mrs. Helmsley was a billionaire real estate investor who ran many New York City hotels. Known as the Queen of Mean, she ended up going to jail (in a Chanel suit, no less) for tax evasion. The auction was a huge success and made nearly $120k, up from the expected $80k. Here are some of Leona's items that some lucky lady now has.

A Cream silk chiffon and feathered evening gown which Helmsley wore to one of her famous “I’m Just Wild About Harry” parties she would throw every year for her husband Harry, sold for $2,000. A Bob Mackie Red Beaded Evening Gown, which sold for $3,200 A Red silk and feather evening gown made by Helmsley’s personal seamstress, sold for $1,000. The pink wool and denim Chanel suit which Helmsley wore to prison in 1992, which sold for $850. A Group of Ferragamo Shoes, which sold for $1,000.

American Ballet Theater Spring Gala - Look it for Less

New York socialites came out in droves to Monday night's American Ballet Theater spring gala, raising an amazing $1.8 million. While most of us don't have their budget, we came up with creative ideas to get their looks for your next fête.

Valesca Guerrand-Hermès wore a gorgeous, green Valentino gown.
While Ms. Hermès spent a mint on her Valentino, you won't have to on this sea green, beaded frock for $318.
Molly Sims wore a stunning yellow, satin Nina Ricci.
This Nanette Lepore dress is just as stunning and is only $305.
Tory Burch in a flowing, white Nina Ricci gown.
This white taffeta cocktail dress will be worn so much more and will set you back only $275.
