She's 27 Dresses

Crimson Lounge at Hotel Sax was just the place for Gen-Arts’ 27 Dresses movie launch event. The sultry lounge provided a perfect, dramatic backdrop and set the mood for the evening. Guests mingled and lounged in the decorative space while sipping signature martinis and champagne cocktails from the bar. In homage to the movie, 27 stunning dresses provided by co-sponsor, She Boutique were paraded down a velvet-roped runway by Ford models. The featured dresses were primarily above the knee frocks. Metallic fabrics and textures dominated the runway but were set off by jewel tones and rich blues. A favorite was a lemon yellow pair of dresses that lay in silky drapes of luxurious texture and moved flawlessly with the models as they ambled. Both dresses had us longing for spring and sunny days.

The event benefited The Glass Slipper Project which offers gently used dresses to Chicago high school girls who are unable to purchase their own prom attire. Attendees were asked to bring a dress for donation and all those who did were entered into a drawing to win a custom-made party dress from Bravo’s Project Runway designer, Steven Rosengard.
