Designer Maria Pinto to Open Up Shop

Maria Pinto, one of Chicago's most established fashion designers is opening up her first boutique in June of 2008. The 2,100 sq. ft.
retail space, designed by Architect Elissa Scrafano and Interior Designer Scott Heuvelhorst, will be located in the West Loop at
133 N. Jefferson St., neighboring Sepia restaurant, which opened
in June of 2007.

Pinto's luxurious designs have been a mainstay on Chicago's elite, including Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama, the stylish wife of presidential hopeful Barack Obama, who is often photographed in a Maria Pinto design. Now shoppers will be able to have access to her beautiful ready-to-wear collection with an inviting new shopping experience. “The store will be a natural extension of my atelier,” said Maria Pinto. “My collections are known for well-edited luxury; each garment incorporates innovative materials and sophisticated tailoring from beginning to end. This attention to detail will be reflected in the environment of the retail space from the moment a client walks through the door.”

In June '08, the store will open with a transition collection followed by the fall '08 collection, which will debut in July. “Often clients come to us because they need something for a special occasion or black-tie event. When shoppers enter the retail store, they will see that we present a whole collection that takes luxury from day to night, so women can incorporate pieces into their everyday wardrobes,” said Pinto.

Clients will also find jewelry and belts brought in from Paris and her signature scarves and wraps from her accessories collections.

Maria Pinto will open at 133 N. Jefferson St. in June 2008. Store hours will be from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. For more information, visit www.mariapinto.com.
