On February 2nd, the entryway to the Lyric Opera was strewn with oriental carpets and set aglow with henna-patterned, pink light projections. While we spotted an assortment of beautiful ball gowns, we give you some ideas for shaking up the cocktail party scene with similar looks.
We were so inspired by this dress worn by Magda Krance, Manager of Media Relations at the Lyric Opera. She sported a vintage Leonard de Paris gown splashed with a très-Moroccan, orange and blue pattern.
We love this Just Cavalli silk shirt dress for $795. Don't be afraid of bold patterns and bright colors. You'll definitely be a stand out in something inspired by Magda! Shop for Designer Brands at eLUXURY.com
Jenny just floated through this party in her ethereal BCBG dress and she looked beautiful doing it.
To get that flowing look that we were inspired by from Jenny's dress, we found a short little frock by Derek Lam. His bow halter dress retails for $1,690.

Opera singer Amber Wagner looked gorgeous up on stage in her zebra print dress with a pink sashed waist.
We adore this zebra print strapless dress by Tibi. Not only does it look comfortable, but we love the pockets! The dress retails for $330.

Last, but not least, have fun! There were festive fez hats which decorated the tables. We weren't afraid to put them on and just have a good time! This picture ended up making it in the Chicago Sun-Times!
This year’s ball raised $569,460. Check out Jenny Berg's full story. Click Here
