If there’s one designer whose runway looks always make it on retail, it’s Phillip Lim. Maybe that’s why we love him so much; his collections are just the right balance of clean and refined with pretty and romantic, and they’re just so – wearable.
The 3.1 runway in February was definitely different, and reflective of a growing up of sorts. Lim’s indulged in lower hemlines and oversized dusters, presenting a more conservative air. And while exploring the demure silhouettes, he surprised us with splashes of gold and a fitting, cropped leather aviator blazer. We also fell in love with the dreamy, sheer fabrics, the flowy maxidresses, and the wide-leg jeans.
For the men, he put together roomy trousers and utility pants with jewel-toned blazers and oversized scarves. We knew we could count on him for casual basics with small, unique details – a hand-rolled tee with a cool draped breast pocket, the toggled collar and braided hem on his knit sweater.
It’s the perfect play for the coming season – feminine blouses and dresses with hints of bohemian grounded by coats with classic lines and unexpected accents for flair, all on a neutral palette with splashes of burnished fall tones. Indulge yourself and shop 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall Collection
