Yellow is a great color for cheerful summer frocks. Bright shades can express fun and excitement; whereas deeper marigolds can add a little sophistication. However, one’s personal skin tone should be considered first in choosing the right shade of yellow. Pale yellow shades often wash out pale skin. Luckily, yellow is such a prominent trend that finding your right dress and shade can be fairly simple. Nicole Miller has gone yellow with a fabulous strapless, metallic-print silk gown that can be found on NORDSTROM.com Diane Von Furstenberg’s Pauline maxi dress is lovely for summer and can be found on sale at NET-A-PORTER.COM

If completely yellow ensembles do not seem to be working for you, try using an accent like the Plaid Double Layer Kim Dress by Corey Lynn Calter, $159, in navy and natural that comes with a bright yellow belt at RevolveClothing.com. Spice up your look by adding a yellow bag, tote, or clutch. Another option is to accessorize with shoes or sunglasses.
