Stars heated up the red carpet and the stage at the 10th American Latino Media Arts (ALMA) Awards Monday night in Pasadena, California. Honoring Latin American performers in entertainment, the awards show was hosted by Eva Longoria and will air September 12 on ABC. Stars in attendance included America Ferrera, Zac Efron, Charlie Sheen, and Judy Reyes, who all wore their award show-best.
Longoria alone donned ten different dresses during the award ceremony, marking the event not only one celebrating Latino Americans in the entertainment business, but also one celebrating red carpet fashion. Big winner, Ferrera, chose a Diane von Furstenburg black and white dress which she wore on stage to accept her Entertainer of the Year award for both her work on TV show Ugly Betty, and also for encouraging youth to get involved with politics.
Other winners included Shakira for the Humanitarian Award, George Lopez for Best Comedy Special (America's Mexican), and Charlie Sheen for Best Actor in a Comedy Series (Two and a Half Men).
The ALMA Awards began in 1998 with an award going to Jennifer Lopez for her role in Selena and ever since then, like J.Lo's fashion sense, the award show has evolved into a major event with style icons bringing their best dresses forward to honor the best Latinos in American media.
