Sears at New York Fashion Week?

When you think of Sears, high fashion does not come to mind, but the discount retailer is looking to New York's upcoming September fashion week to try and change their image.

Sears announced they will unveil a lifestyle exhibit on September 10 in New York's Bryant Park alongside some of the most famous designers in the world. The exhibit will be open to the public and will showcase brands that Sears currently sells as well as introducing new brands, such as a clothing line by rapper
LL Cool J.

According to Reuters, Amy Dimond, Sears spokeswoman said, "What we really wanted to do was bring a taste of Fashion Week to people who would normally never get to sit under the tents or get to see a runway show".

There will also be an exclusive kick-off party in hopes to get some of the fashion industry executives to take a peek at the retailers new image.
