While you can smell the different notes, ranging from fruity to floral, a sweet vanilla dominates the sense. While not as elegant as its name would suggest, Fancy is extremely pleasant and will appeal to a wide range of women. Younger women will be drawn to the sweetness of the fragrance, while older women will appreciate the sharper floral notes.
Unlike her almost literal body product line Dessert, Simpson and Parlux, the company who is putting out the fragrance, seem to be targeting other women than those just interested in smelling and tasting like cupcakes (the effect of her Dessert line). Starting with its name, Fancy has more sophistication than Dessert to offer to more women. With many other commercial ventures already, not to mention her music, Simpson can bank on her previous fan base. Time will tell if her attempt at a fragrance will attract a new, fancier customer.
